Ping is the reaction time of your connection.
This shows how fast you get a response after sending out a request.
A low ping means a more responsive connection, while a high ping means you'll receive a slower response time from the server you're trying to connect to.
Ping is measured in milliseconds (ms).
In most cases, ping times are negligible as it does not affect your Internet connection speed. What this means is that even if your ping is very high, your Internet connection speed may still be very good and allow you to download or upload data with little to no issues.
If your usage of our VPN or the Internet in general requires low ping times, then many factors will have to be taken into consideration when subscribing to a VPN service.
In particular, you will usually need to connect to the server that is nearest to your physical location.
For example, if you're currently in France, the best possible server for you to connect to would be France. If you choose a server in the USA or Asia, you will experience a drastic increase in ping times as your Internet connection will go to our USA/Asia server, then the website you are trying to access and finally back to you.
If you're already subscribed to our service and experience bad ping, please follow the steps below:
1. Connect to the VPN.
2. Go to www.speedtest.net and perform a speedtest while the VPN is active.
3. Once you have the results, note it down and disconnect the VPN.
4. Without refreshing the page, please try the speedtest once more.
The test above will give you your Download and Upload speed as well as the ping between you and the selected server while connected to our VPN service and while disconnected from our service.
