Since the Chromecast does not have any option to change the internal DNS settings, you will need to make the change on your Internet router.

In addition to this, you will also need to setup a firewall or static route on the router to force the Chromecast to use our DNS servers. Without this rule, the Chromecast will automatically revert to it's inbuilt Google DNS servers and bypass the DNS servers set on your router.


These instructions below will guide you on how to force all DNS queries through our service via the listed routers, regardless of whether another DNS i.e. Google DNS , OpenDNS is set on the individual devices.
