Certain apps that have live events require your device's clock to be synchronised with the country the app contents supposed to be in.

For example, to access BBC ONE Live streaming from the Android BBC iPlayer app, you will need to change your device timezone ie time & date settings to match that of the UK.

This is sometimes required for some apps that checks on your timezone regardless of whether the programme is LIVE or Catchup.

The steps below were tried on a Google Nexus 4.4 device, however the steps should be similar on all versions of Android and models ie HTC, Samsung, LG.

1) Open your Settings menu and scroll down to System.

2) Tap on Date & Time.

3) Tap on Select time zone and chose your desired timezone.

4) Close the Settings menu and if the TV apps are still running in the background, swipe it away and relaunch it.
